I hope you all had a great March!
Now I did a review on this during my first year of KingdomReader so I will be re-reviewing some of the books I did during my first year of posting.
Let’s get started!
by Kelly Creagh
Cheerleader Isobel Lanley is horrified when she is paired with Varen Nethers for an English project, which is due—so unfair—on the day of the rival game. Cold and aloof, sardonic and sharp-tongued, Varen makes it clear he’d rather not have anything to do with her either. But when Isobel discovers strange writing in his journal, she can’t help but give this enigmatic boy with the piercing eyes another look.
Soon, Isobel finds herself making excuses to be with Varen. Steadily pulled away from her friends and her possessive boyfriend, Isobel ventures deeper and deeper into the dream world Varen has created through the pages of his notebook, a realm where the terrifying stories of Edgar Allan Poe come to life.
As her world begins to unravel around her, Isobel discovers that dreams, like words, hold more power than she ever imagined, and that the most frightening realities are those of the mind. Now she must find a way to reach Varen before he is consumed by the shadows of his own nightmares.
His life depends on it.
KingdomReader’s Rating: 5 out of 5 stars.
I love this series so much! It was so interesting to read, it just pulled me in a didn’t let me go! [Stayed up late to finish it. *sigh* Tis the life of a reader].
What I really enjoyed about this book was all the twisted and turns it took, it never really stayed in one place and was just always moving, it kept me guessing and letting my imagination run wild.
While I really enjoyed the book I only have to say this about it, I had to re-read the series in order to understand some of the parts that happened cause there were times where I was just really confused and disorientated.
But other than that I loved it!
WARNINGS: Violence, blood, monsters, swearing.
Have a great week everyone!
